The California State Auditor is seeking students in their junior year of an accounting, business, finance, economics program, or their first year of an MPA/MPP/MBA/JD program to join our team in Sacramento. The Summer Auditor Internship position will challenge your analytical and writing abilities, and put your people skills to work. No experience is required; we will train you.
Our interns become part of a team responsible for conducting a financial, compliance, or performance audit for the Legislature. The nature of our audits includes gathering and analyzing data, conducting research, interviewing agency staff, and drafting sections of an audit report. You'll gain valuable governmental auditing experience while you make new friends. Keep in mind that we want your internship to be at least 10 weeks long.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills are required as well as the ability to effectively assist in the production of formal, written reports with documented findings, objective conclusions, and substantive recommendations.
